This close up eye to eye photo of a Silky happened whilst interacting with an orca pod in the gulf of California. It was a natural encounter and typically to interact with pelagic sharks chumming is a requirement - however, this also creates a different scenario .. it’s exhilarating when these opportunities happen naturally and unexpectedly. In the middle of photographing orcas this took priority as attracted by all the movement she confidently approached me in for a very close inspection, kissing my dome port as I gently had to redirect her away.
